In this study, the process optimization of a tri-reformer reactor is conducted for the synthesis of hydrogen gas from natural gas using multi-objective optimization (MOO) approach. Specifically, four MOO problems are solved using three objective functions, namely maximization of H2, minimization of CO2, and minimization of power loss. It should be noticed that the power loss is an important economic factor due the large pressure drop and flowrates in packed bed reactors. However, it has not been used as an objective function for the optimization based design and/or operation of fixed bed reactor for reforming process to the best of authors’ knowledge. Three of the four MOO problems are 2-objective in nature with all the permutation and combination of the three objectives. The fourth MOO problem is solved considering all the three objectives, simultaneously. For all the MOO problems, feed conditions of O2, H2O, and Temperature are considered as the optimization variables. Recent years have witnessed that the multimodal medical image fusion (MMIF) plays critical roles in clinical diagnostics and treatment. Many MMIF algorithms have been proposed to improve the MMIF images quality. The quality of multimodal medical fused images will significantly affect the results of the clinical diagnosis. However, little work has been designed to evaluate the effectiveness of MMIF algorithms and the quality of MMIF images. To this end, this paper presents a perceptual quality assessment method for MMIF. A MMIF image database (MMIFID) is first built to employ the classical MMIF algorithms, and the subjective experiment is conducted to assess the quality of each fused image. Then, a no-reference objective method is proposed for the perceptual quality evaluation of MMIF images,which uses Pulse Coupled Neural Network (PCNN) in Non-subsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT). A fused image is decomposed by NSCT into low frequency sub-band (LFS) and high frequency sub-band (HFS). It is used to motivate the PCNN processing, and large firing times are employed to measure LFS and HFS. Finally, two components evaluation results are combined to obtain the overall objective quality score. Experimental results based on the MMIFID indicate that our presented method outperforms the existing image fusion quality evaluation metrics, and it provides a satisfactory correlation with subjective scores, which shows effectiveness in the quality assessment of medical fused images. 相似文献

Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a persistent and unexplained pathological state characterized by exertional and severely debilitating fatigue, with/without infectious or neuropsychiatric symptoms, and with a minimum duration of 6 consecutive months. Its pathogenesis is not fully understood. There are no firmly established diagnostic biomarkers or treatment, due to incomplete understanding of the etiology of ME/CFS and diagnostic uncertainty. Establishing a biomarker for the objective diagnosis is urgently needed to treat a lot of patients. Recently, research on ME/CFS using metabolome analysis methods has been increasing. Here, we overview recent findings concerning the metabolic features in patients with ME/CFS and the animal models which contribute to the development of diagnostic biomarkers for ME/CFS and its treatment. We present a multi-objective optimization (MOO) based study of the optimal operation of methane reformer for spherical reactor and compare the results with the ones for the cylindrical reactor. We considered three objective functions for this comparative study, namely maximization of hydrogen production, minimization of carbon dioxide emission, and minimization of power loss due to pressure drop in the reactor. We solve four MOO problems, which include three 2-objective problems with each pair of the aforementioned three objectives. In addition, we also solve a three objective problem considering all the three objectives. The optimization variables considered for the MOO study correspond to the feed conditions.
